Join religious leaders of every faith November 10-17th to commemorate World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
Sadly, the epidemic of traffic crashes is one that unites us all. People of every faith, neighborhood, race, class, gender, age, ability and political affiliation are hit personally by this issue.
In Denver alone, every 5 days someone is killed in a traffic crash and hundreds are injured every year.
Imagine if all peoples and all religions come together as one, to pray for a day when there are no more senseless deaths and injuries due to preventable traffic crashes. All faith leaders can use their pulpits, prayers and programming to remind communities it is up to each and every one of us to make sure this happens, that we are all responsible for each other and must:
- slow down
- pay attention
- support solutions that save lives
In the spirit of World Day of Remembrance, Families for Safe Streets has kindly agreed to share this helpful Clergy Kit tool with Denver Streets Partnership. DSP has modified some of the statistical information for application to Denver, but the personal stories shared throughout are universal to the suffering experienced by anyone who’s lost a loved one to traffic violence.
