The Denver Streets Partnership today delivered 1,728 petition signatures and a sign-on letter from 18 local organizations to Shoshana Lew, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), calling for dedicated bus-only lanes on Colorado Boulevard as part of a high-quality bus rapid transit (BRT) project.

A coalition of community organizations and grassroots advocates today released a new Mayor’s Report Card evaluating Mayor Mike Johnston’s first two full years in office on transportation safety, access and mobility. The report assigns the Mayor a grade of D, citing rising traffic deaths, slowed implementation of road-safety projects, and the redirection of funding away from life-saving street infrastructure.

Denver voters strongly support the city’s efforts to give more street space to people in response to the COVID-19 pandemic through initiatives including shared and open streets that the City unveiled in 2020. Voters also remain enthusiastic about making the transportation system safer and more accessible through a rapid expansion of its bicycle network, according to new survey results
