You may have noticed some changes on Denver’s Shared Streets on E. Bayaud Avenue, E. 11th Avenue, and E. 16th Avenue: traffic calming upgrades like traffic circles, signage, and more. In response to continued community demand, the City is extending the Shared Street initiative through the 2020-2021 winter season and installed new traffic calming configurations and materials to improve safety. Tell us what you think about the upgrades in our new survey!

The City acted swiftly to implement the Shared and Open Streets after a 2020 Denver Streets Partnership survey revealed Denverite’s strong desire for more space to walk, bike, and roll while social distancing. We applaud the Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) for acting quickly, and we also recognize that there is room for improvement. Help us help DOTI help you by completing our new survey!

If you have traveled these streets with the new traffic calming upgrades, we want to hear about it. What do you like about the upgrades? Do they slow traffic and make the street safer for walking, rolling, and biking? What could be better? Please share your thoughts in our new survey and share the link with your neighbors and friends.
