The Denver Streets Partnership and Bicycle Colorado team welcomed four new full-time team members this year, beginning in March 2022. Learn more about each new teammate below (and head to the Bicycle Colorado blog for more!).

Tanniqua-Kay Buchanan

Neighborhood Projects Coordinator

A Black woman with curly black hair down to her chin.

1. What brought you to the Bicycle Colorado and Denver Streets Partnership teams?

The reason why I gravitated to Denver Streets Partnership/Bicycle Colorado team is because the organization aligns with my personal professional mission and interest; to inspire artistic and cultural change through placemaking and place-keeping as its intersectional approach strengthens and bridges cultural gaps through innovative investment. What I really love is Denver Streets Partnership’s emphasis on human dignity as a guiding principle for an equitable city! I’m really happy with supporting this mission and engaging with diverse communities, creatively investing in their neighborhood.

2. What were you doing before joining us?

I was a Dance Faculty, and Teaching Artist!

3. How long have you been in Colorado?

I’ve been in Colorado for a year and 4 months.

4. Why are transportation, mobility, and recreational access issues important to you?

These issues are important to me because these are challenges that affect the quality of life of people in communities that are systemically impacted, specifically communities of color that are living in divested spaces. It also highlights the importance of access; if community members have access to safe recreational spaces, mobility, and transportation, they have access to more resources and can have autonomy for being advocates of their community needs.

5. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I really enjoy dance (and teaching dance), choreographing, traveling, and rollerblading/skating.

Adrienne Razavi

Organizing Manager

A woman with shoulder length red hair.

1. What brought you to the Bicycle Colorado and Denver Streets Partnership teams?

What brought me to the BC/DSP teams is a passion for helping people and a deep concern for Denver’s (and the nation’s) car dependence. I’ll be working to generate a grassroots power base for DSP’s policy work.

2. What were you doing before joining us?

Before joining DSP, I was a high school English educator for almost a decade. I was also the school’s Speech and Debate Program Coordinator for five years. In those combined roles, I developed a passion for empowering people through connecting people to information and working with multicultural and underserved communities.

3. How long have you been in Colorado?

I’ve been in Colorado, specifically Aurora, for most of my life (a bit over two decades).

4. Why are transportation, mobility, and recreational access issues important to you?

Transportation, mobility, and recreational access issues are important to me because everyone needs to get around the city and should be able to do so safely and efficiently. I dislike car-centric transportation because of the environmental impact, the serious injury I sustained in a car crash, and the missed opportunity for physical exercise it involves.

5. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy reading, photography, being in nature, and indoor rock climbing and kickboxing.

Hilary LeBlanc, Membership Manager

Hilary has spent much of her career in the travel industry—but not the travel industry that might first come to mind. Most recently she was the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator for Where There Be Dragons, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to cultivate meaningful connections through immersive and responsible travel in an effort to foster a more compassionate, just and inclusive world. Hilary has also been an Outdoor Educator for High Trails Outdoor Education Center and a Bicycle Trip Leader for Overland Summers.

Mari Meier, Communications and Marketing Coordinator

The Communications team is excited to welcome Mari Meier! Mari comes to us with a degree from UT Austin in Creative Advertising and a minor in Business. We’re excited that she’s bringing experience in marketing and creative advertising through her time at various ad agencies. Currently, she is also completing a certificate in Sexuality Education.
