Jason gets up early for his ten-hour shift as an RTD bus driver and works hard to stay on schedule. He doesn’t have a car and recognizes the importance of his job. Driving can be demanding, especially when his bus is full  of passengers frustrated by traffic delays. One Tuesday evening, Jason was surprised to see Kayla with the Denver Streets Partnership waving to him from the upcoming stop. She hopped on with a smile and handed Jason a thank-you card that read “We Love Bus Drivers!” The very next week, Jason learned that due to the efforts of the Denver Streets Partnership, RTD would be adding a new, dedicated bus-only lane along his route. Jason smiled, knowing this would make it easier to reach his stops on time and make his job more enjoyable since passengers would be happier. For the first time in a while, Jason felt truly appreciated.

Jason’s story inspires us. We work to support him and others like him every day, ensuring human dignity is the guiding principle for the design of our transportation system.
