Project partners include the City and County of Denver, Westwood Unidos, BuCu West, D3 Arts, Groundwork Denver, Denver Streets Partnership, and many others dedicated to achieving a safer, healthier, and more connected Westwood.

Supporting small businesses in Little Saigon and Westwood
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Denver Streets Partnership has worked with a variety of community partners in West Denver to support the locally-owned businesses in the Little Saigon and Westwood areas. Small businesses are the lifeblood of any community and, in Denver, the places we’re trying to get to by foot, bike, or […]
Southwest Denver School Art Projects

Colfax Walk Audits
Colfax should be a walker’s paradise. It is lined with some of Denver’s most beloved shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, and concert venues. Its status as the busiest bus corridor in the city means it is usually teeming with pedestrians. But Colfax can be an unpleasant and even unsafe place to walk. We’ve audited Colfax from West […]

Envisioning a new future for the Colfax-Federal Clover
The intersection of Colfax Avenue and Federal Boulevard, known as the Colfax Clover, was intended to provide quick access for large numbers of fast-moving vehicles. But for anyone trying to access Denver’s west side on foot, bicycle, or transit, the interchange is a dangerous barrier that separates the area from the rest of the city. […]
RTD Bus Rider & Driver Appreciation Event
With the installment of bus-only lanes on 17th street, we wanted to give a shout out to all the bus drivers and riders who finally get their own piece of the road. We know our bus drivers work hard to get us where we need to go so we surprised operators with lanyards, coffee gift […]

Lakewood Gulch Wayfinding
Thanks to our partnership with the West Colfax Business Improvement District, there is now multi-lingual wayfinding signage on the Lakewood Gulch! The project, West Colfax Connects, builds on efforts to improve pedestrian mobility to support access to businesses for local residents with the goal to connect West Colfax with surrounding neighborhoods, particularly Sun Valley as it undergoes major redevelopment.
We had every single bus stop on Federal Boulevard assessed – here are the results
Many bus stops in the city lack even the most basic amenities such as seating, protection from the elements, and lighting. We recommend adding these amenities as short-term improvements that would enhance safety, comfort, and convenience for riders along RTD’s second-busiest corridor. On a long-term scale, we recommend much more substantial improvements to Federal’s roadway design and streetscape.
The race for the Pokey Award underscores the need for dedicated bus lanes
On October 3, 2019, the Denver Streets Partnership hosted a second Amazing Denver Mobility Race. This edition of the mobility race featured six teams trying to get from one end of downtown to the other during evening rush hour. Each team was assigned a different mode of travel and the champion would be bestowed a Pokey Award. Unlike the previous mobility race we hosted however, the goal was not to win. Because to “win” a Pokey Award, you had to come in last.
