Pre-pandemic, we celebrated Valentine’s Day week with a Love-In on the Denver City and County Building steps to show our support for safe street design. Past Love-In events included balloons and candy, writing cards to City officials, and dancing. This year, the Denver Streets Partnership and the Denver Community Active Living Coalition (CALC) invite you to share your love for local main streets and businesses at our virtual Love-in on Facebook! Today through Sunday, let’s celebrate streets that encourage community health and vibrancy and put people first.

  • Thursday (2/11) – Share past pictures of the Love-In events you’ve attended with #lovein and #streetsareforpeople. (Here are some online photos albums: 2020, 2019, 2017, 2016)
  • Friday (2/12) – Spread the love for people-friendly streets and local businesses by sharing a link to order free postcards that people can give to Denver businesses where they eat, shop, or find services.
  • Saturday (2/13) – Art! Download and color our 2021 Love-In coloring page at home. Go outside to chalk sidewalks or shared streets. Then share photos on social media.
  • Sunday (2/14) – Show your local biz some love. Walk, bike, or take transit to local businesses, then tag them in social media posts as you share what you love about your local main street #walktobiz #biketobiz

We believe our main streets are the lifeline of our neighborhoods and are more enjoyable when we have both people-friendly streets and strong local businesses. Order our free postcards that you can drop off at your favorite local businesses when you shop or pick up food. On one side, these cards tell the business that you walked, rolled, or biked to get there. On the other side – in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese – the cards encourage the business to support infrastructure improvements that make our streets more people-friendly. Plus, there’s room for you to write a note about why you love the business.
