Over the past year, the Denver Streets Partnership helped several small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic to reclaim street and parking lot space for more seating and boost business. These efforts build on DSP’s past work to celebrate the cultural diversity of Little Saigon Denver while making the district safer and more accessible to people walking, biking and using public transit.

Each district, distinct in their own way, has overcome the stigmas associated with being immigrant-owned businesses in a country that they now call home. Because of the struggles they have overcome, many refuse to ask for help as they would prefer to tough it out and get by on their own.

Working closely with business owners to meet their unique needs, DSP provided support to transform parking lots into outdoor patios with lights, picnic tables, and heaters, turning once-desolate patches of asphalt into lively, safe, community gathering places.

With spring approaching and the days getting longer, let’s celebrate all small businesses and the mainstreets that connect them. Peruse restaurants in Little Saigon and Westwood and enjoy!
