Update: They voted Yes!

Across the nation, public transit revenue has cratered during the COVID-19 crisis, and transit agencies are bleeding millions of dollars weekly. Public transit is essential to millions of jobs and the economic health of our cities and communities. Riders and others helped win billions in emergency funds to #SaveTransit in 2020. According to the American Public Transportation Association, public transit agencies across the country – including RTD – still need $39.3 billion dollars to get through 2023.

Thanks to the dedicated action of millions of transit riders, transit workers, business owners, environmental activists, and transportation advocates, Congress is considering a $30 billion package to support public transit as part of President Biden’s American Rescue Plan. The bill already passed in the U.S. House of Representatives, and now it’s the U.S. Senate’s turn. Thirty billion dollars is a downpayment toward full recovery for our communities, and we’re asking you to contact Senator Michael Bennet and Senator John Hickenlooper to ask for their support.
