Equity and justice are tenets of the Denver Streets Partnership’s mission year-round. As we celebrate Black History Month, I’d like to (re)introduce you to Black champions who are shaping Denver’s present and future to celebrate people and ensure all residents’ safety, health, and dignity as they travel. We’re grateful they are members of our Denver Streets Partnership community.

Naomi Amaha is Vice President of Health Strategies with the American Heart Association Colorado and serves on the Denver Streets Partnership steering committee. Naomi brings big-picture vision and policy expertise to our coalition, plus a love for walking her small dogs. In 2020, she represented the intersection of health, people-friendly streets, and climate on Denver’s Climate Action Task Force, a major undertaking that will influence Denver’s mobility funding and decisions for decades (Denverite article). Read her remarks about mobility and equity at the 2020 Denver Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Marade.
