“Walking unquestionably, and almost immediately, brings me into direct relationship with human and planet landscapes that are inherently too wondrous to be defined, too expansive to be fully grasped, and in the end, full of stars.”
This is an excerpt from our friend, fellow sidewalks supporter, and author Jonathon Stalls. You may know him through his work with Pedestrian Dignity, his recent feature in Westword, or his appearance on City Cast Denver. His new book, Walk: Slow Down, Wake Up & Connect at 1-3 Miles per Hour, chronicles his journey becoming an advocate for walking and, through delightful narratives and beautiful pen artwork, the value walking brings to people’s lives.
Denver Deserves Sidewalks is fighting for safer and more dignified places for people to walk in Denver. To make it to election day on November 8, our fundraising goal is $25,000.
Jonathon has generously offered to send a copy of his book and Pedestrian Dignity art prints and stickers to the first ten people who donate $250 or more to the Denver Deserves Sidewalks campaign by Tuesday, October 25. Will you donate today to help us reach our fundraising goal?
We have a squad of volunteers who are working hard to get out the vote for Denver Deserves Sidewalks. Donations like yours will help their efforts go even further. Can we count on you?
If $250 is too steep of an ask right now, we hope you’ll still consider making a donation of any size. This money goes straight to helping us reach likely voters, so every dollar gets us closer to a win!
