WESTWORD – A crowd of friends, family members, neighbors, church peers and safe-street advocates gathered on October 11 to remember Tim Campbell, killed by a driver who ran a red light at the corner of West Colfax and Irving while he was headed to the RTD bus stop in his wheelchair on September 11, 2020. The group met at Cheltenham Elementary, then joined in a roll/walk to the Corky Gonzales Library for speeches remembering Campbell. “If you want to make West Colfax safer so these deaths stop, please go to bit.ly/safercolfax and send an email to the Mayor, Director of the Department of Transportation, and city council members urging them to make safer changes to this street quickly,” said Denver Streets Partnership’s Jill Locantore.
