14th Avenue Open Streets Demonstration

Three people walk across an open street, flanked by planters.

The Denver Streets Partnership collaborated with the Civic Center Conservancy to host an Open Streets demonstration on 14th Avenue between Bannock Street and Acoma Street, south of Civic Center Park, in the Golden Triangle neighborhood on July 31, 2022.

Our demonstration, part of “Day in the Park” at Civic Center, aimed at encouraging casual park use, closed the street to vehicles to prioritize people walking and biking. Elements of the demonstration included shaded seating areas, games and kid’s activities, planters buffering the bike lane, and an enhanced pedestrian crossing at Acoma Street.
